The Gladstone Group working hard for you even in Las Vegas
by Bill Gladstone
During January, NAI, our international affiliation
had their conference at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas. There were more than
1,000 attendees. I
enjoy going to these events because of the number of people I am able to
meet and the potential networking. The experience is even better
if there is a class I can teach on an interesting subject.
My first six years after college I was employed as a school teacher. I
enjoy teaching immensely. When I am able to teach a class on a meaningful
subject, I know I can get good attendance. By the end of the conference,
I have increased the number of people that are familiar with Bill Gladstone
and the Bill Gladstone Group. At this past conference in Las Vegas, I was
able to teach three sessions. The first was a 90 minute session on
team building and working with assistants. Another was a 90 minute
session on marketing methodologies for improving an agent’s daily
income by increasing deal volume. The third was an informal breakfast
marketing idea exchange focused on sharing marketing ideas and methods
from different real estate firms from around the world. I had over
150 people (150 opportunities) in attendance for these three sessions.
The greatest opportunity this affords me is the ability to speak in front
of colleagues as a skilled professional. If they like what they see
and hear, the next time they have a need in Harrisburg, PA they now have
a broker acquaintance. Of course they could easily use any broker
they discover when calling into the market; but now they have the opportunity
to can request a specific agent – me! My services have been
requested in this manner a number of times and I was able to close the
deal. Speaking at conferences has been a great way to direct more
business toward the Bill Gladstone Group, our clients and the properties
we represent.
So whether it’s to lease, sell, or list a property (one in which
you, our client might be interested), this type of networking has the potential
to develop more opportunities for you. Our capabilities increase as we
tap into resources outside the Harrisburg Market enabling us to find great
opportunities for you within this market. And it works! I
have come across a variety of real estate situations, which have benefited
our clients by staying “in touch” with those out of town brokers.
It was interesting to see the amount of e-mails my Group and I were bombarded
with after I taught those sessions. People were requesting more information
and the traffic to our Website saw a significant increase (which weekly
gets between 1,600 to 2,000 visitors). We responded in less than
24 hours to all requests and have no problem sharing what we do with people
who have a sincere interest in trying to better themselves. This
simply allows us to build relationships with more contacts that may be
beneficial to our clients in the future.
On an annual basis, going to the international convention is a small investment
of my time; in the long run it benefits our clients. We achieve results
by trying to maximize our strengths by providing more choices for our clients. In
April I’m looking forward to moderating the Technology Forum in La
Quinta, California for SIOR (Society of Office and Industrial Realtors). After
that the next SIOR conference is in Charlotte (November) and NAI in January
of 2007, will once again be in Las Vegas.
If we can help you with a real
estate presentation for your business clientele, your Board of Directors
or people with whom you are connected regarding real estate for your
own account, we welcome the opportunity to be of service. Annually,
I make many personal presentations and feel comfortable doing this. Using
a video background and cutting edge technology, I have successfully presented
to The Orthopedic Institute of Pennsylvania (now finishing their 40,000
SF freestanding building at the Camp Hill Shopping Center), the Dauphin
County Industrial Development Authority (now having leased 85 percent of
the Veterans Building at 112 Market Street, Harrisburg) and the West Shore
Free Evangelical Church (having sold their 60,000 SF building in Mechanicsburg). The
presentations we deliver are meaningful and can be focused on specific
issues at hand.
Our goal is to meet your real estate needs and hopefully exceed your level
of expectation. We want real estate to be a pleasant experience
for you. Keep us in mind, and if we can be of service, please call
or send an e-mail.
